Hey there, I hope your day has been well so far. It’s a HOT one today! Temperatures averaged in the high 80′s and it was steamy. There’s also a lot of severe thunderstorm warnings going around eastern NY, including my county. We’re also in a tornado watch until 9:00pm! Tornado watch is one of the scariest weather forecasts I can hear (besides tornado warning). There’s also been reports of hail :/ Scary!
I was pretty busy until about 1:00 today; going to the doctor’s office, checking out a new book from the library, grocery shopping, and applying for more jobs. The job I was applying for had an online application, and everything was fine until I uploaded my resume. The website just said processing and never stopped! Guess I’ll try again tomorrow.
Before I left this morning, I had one of my favorite breakfasts. Oatmeal cooked with almond coconut milk, and topped with flaxseed peanut butter and frozen blueberries.
I also had some delicious iced blueberry green tea that I made on Sunday.
This afternoon, I took advantage of the extreme heat and did some “hot” yoga. I know hot yoga is usually done in a studio that is around 100 degrees, but this was close enough. I used to use exercise tv on demand but for some reason it went away last year, so today I used another channel from Time Warner cable.
Some of the poses were pretty advanced, like the crow pose. Maybe someday I can do that!
I also wanted to add some more cardio so I walked on an incline on the treadmill. I was dripping sweat! That small dot by my left foot is sweat!
After my workout, I whipped up a raspberry smoothie.
In the smoothie:
- 1 cup Almond Breeze almond coconut milk
- 1 banana
- 1 tbsp flaxseeds
- 1/8 cup Bear Naked oats & honey flax granola
- 1/4 cup frozen raspberries
