Graduation Party Game Plan

Hey everyone, I hope your Saturday has been going well! It’s beautiful outside, but I haven’t had much of a chance to get out because I’ve been spending the day cleaning. I’m getting some extra cash to be the house cleaner for the day so I’ve been working for a while.

I got a late start to cleaning this morning, so I only worked for about 3 hours. According to my app Lose It!, house cleaning for 3 hours burns 409 calories. According to self.com, I burned 612?! I wish, but there is no way I burned that many calories. I’d say 200 at most; I barely broke a sweat.

Halfway through my cleaning, I stopped for some lunch. We still have a few meals worth of cold sesame noodles left, but I am starting to get sick of them! I was craving a sandwich, so that’s what I went with.

I toasted up an english muffin, spread it with garlic hummus, and squished in some cucumber slices, lettuce, and American cheese.

I ate it with some Veggie Mobile cherries and a salad made entirely (I think?) with veggies from our CSA.

I am really loving the pea pods! They are so sweet and crunchy.

I ended up cleaning the half-bathroom, the laundry room (with the litter boxes), the living room, and the dining room. The laundry room took over an hour because of the litter boxes!

I also took some time today to make a game plan for the graduation party I’m going to later. Social events are usually a diet downfall to me, so I decided to make a plan so I won’t overindulge. If I can make it the weekend without any eating problems, then I’ll have made it a month without overindulgance! Which will be something to celebrate (without food).

My main concern is there not being a lot of vegetarian food and relying on chips and desserts to fill me up. I also tend to freak out if there is vegetarian protein (like a sub platter or cheese and crackers), but no whole grains. I feel guilty eating refined grains, but I know that eating a little won’t kill me. Freaking out and going overboard might though.

I’m going to stick to my game plan and hopefully it will work!

How do you handle eating in social situations?

  1. you can do it! And even if you have a few unrefined grains or a bit more dessert than you wanted just realize it and stop. Walk away, like you said. I consider a binge not being able to stop until it’s too late. you can stop because you have control! You’ve got it! Have a great time :)

  2. hehe, I’m always making notes like that to myself on my iPhone :) You’ll be fine – just trust yourself and listen to your body. Have fun!
